Will there be bag storage services provided?
Yes, free bag storage services will be provided at the Event.
All Participants who wish to use this free bag storage service should do so at the bag storage booth at earliest possible time.
The bag storage booth is open from 4:30 am until 11am
How do I keep my belongings at the bag storage booth?
You can simply bring your belongings along with your Participant bib number to the bag storage booth. You will receive a tag on your Participant bib number which will also be tagged onto your belongings.
You must ensure that you do not lose your Participant bib number in order to claim your belongings at the bag storage booth.
Simply present your Participant bib number at the bag storage booth to retrieve your belongings.
What if some of my items are missing from the bag storage booth?
As much as possible, we will try our best to ensure that your belongings are safely stored.
Please try not to bring valuables to the Event. We will not be held responsible for any loss and/or damage to your belongings stored at the bag storage booth.
Will I receive a medal for participating in the Standard Chartered Half Marathon Brunei 2013?
Yes, all participants will receive an online certificate for your participation in the Event.
Will I be able to change the name on my certificate?
No, changing of names on the certificate will not be entertained after submission of the registration form.
When and where can I collect my certificate?
All certificates will be available online after the Event until 9 May 2013.

Does Standard Chartered Bank donate all the proceeds from the Event to charity?
100% of all proceeds raised from donation cards and online donations go to the charities. The proceeds will be equally split amongst SMARTER, Learning Ladders and Seeing is Believing.

What is the donation card for?
The donation card is for you to collect donations to contribute towards the charities benefiting from the Standard Chartered Half-Marathon Brunei 2013.
Must I collect donations?
This Event is a fund raiser and we appreciate your kind support to collect donations from your friends and family to support you in running the race that cares. All donations that you raise will go directly to the charities. Together, if we all do our bit and raise as much funds as we can, we can make a positive difference to the lives of the autistic and visually impaired.
Is there a minimum or maximum amount of donations to collect?
There is no minimum or maximum amount to collect. However, the more you collect, the more will be contributed to charity and the bigger the impact we can make towards a positive change.
Is there any prize for the highest amount of donations collected?
Yes! We will be awarding the highest donation collector with a prize of an Apple iPad mini with Wi-Fi 16GB
What if I have completed all available fields on my donation card?
Yes, please visit any Standard Chartered Bank branch to obtain additional donation cards.
You must bring your previous donation card along in order to obtain another card.
When and how do I return my donation card and the money I have collected?
Donation cards may be returned at any Standard Chartered Bank branch between 1 and 29 March 2013 or during the Race Entry Pack Collection period on 5 and 6 April 2013.
Please ensure that you also bring along and return the donations you have collected along with your donation card.
If you return your donation card before Race Entry Pack Collection period, please bring along your registration confirmation email to be stamped for verification purposes.
What happens if I lose my donation card?
- You must report your lost donation card to the police. The police will issue you with a note stating the loss of donation cards.
- You must present this note together with the donations fund you have collected at any Standard Chartered Bank branch between 1 and 29 March 2013 or during the Race Entry Pack Collection period on 5 and 6 April 2013.
What if I do not return my donation card?
- Standard Chartered Bank will lodge a report with the police on all donation cards not returned. Records will be kept for this purpose.
- You will not receive your Race Entry Pack (REP) and your registration will be cancelled.
Can I enter the lucky draw even though I did not register for the Event?
No. The lucky draw is only available for Participants of the Event.
How do I enter the lucky draw?
- If you are participating in the Event, you will automatically receive 1 entry into the lucky draw.
- You are responsible for entering your lucky draw ticket stub into the lucky draw box on the Event day located at the Standard Chartered merchandise booth.
When is the lucky draw?
The lucky draw is held on the Event day at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
What if I am not able to attend the Event? Can a representative claim my lucky draw prize for me?
As long as your representative attending the Event has your lucky draw ticket stub, he/she can claim your lucky draw prize for you on your behalf.
What are the lucky draw prizes?

Will I receive a medal for participating in the Standard Chartered Half Marathon Brunei 2013?
Finisher’s medals are only available to Participants of the Half-Marathon and 10km.
When and where can I collect my finisher’s medal?
You may collect your finisher’s medals using your bib numbers at the finishing line upon successful completion of the Half-Marathon or 10km.
Each Participant who successfully completes the Half-Marathon 21km or 10km categories will only be given one finisher’s medal.
How many run categories are there?
There are 6 main categories :
- Half-Marathon (21km) – Men / Women Open
- Half-Marathon (21km) – Men / Women (Veteran 40 and above)
- Half-Marathon (21km) – Men / Women Bruneian
- 10km – Men / Women Open
- 5km- Men / Women Open
- 2.5km Fun Run
What are the age requirements for the event categories?

Note: Participants below 18 years of age are required to obtain parental or guardian’s consent and complete the relevant indemnity declaration form as deemed necessary by the Organiser upon online registration or in-person registration, failing which, the Organiser reserves the right to refuse entry.
For experienced Participants who do not meet the age requirements in the Event category but still wish to participate
If the Participants’ parent or guardian requests in writing, the Organiser may in its sole discretion permit physically fit and experienced Participants to participate in any of the Event categories. Such permitted Participants are eligible for finisher’s medals, finishing positions or prizes.
What are the prizes for each category?

All winners also receive a Soleus Running watch.
Runners participating in the Great Eastern Women’s 10km Run will also receive a special Great Eastern gifts in their running bags and invitations to special Great Eastern events.
How do I take part in the fancy dress category?
You can just show up for the Event in any interesting and creative outfit. All participants in Fancy Dress will be judged and winners will be selected.
Will all the categories have chip timing?
Only the Competitive Events which is the Half-Marathon and 10km categories will have a timing chip. 5km and 2.5km Fun Run are considered Non-competitive Events, therefore no timing chip is provided. However, we will time the top 10 runners of 5km and 2.5km Fun Run manually for rankings.
Where can I see my results?
Results will be available on www.scbruneihalfmarathon.com 24 hours after the Event. Only the Half-Marathon 21km and 10km will have their rankings online. Only the top 10 runners for 5km and 2.5km Fun Run will be displayed.
When and where is the Race Entry Pack Collection?
The Race Entry Pack Collection will be held at the National Indoor Stadium on:
- Friday, 5 April 2013: 8:00am to 12:00pm and 2:00pm to 9:00pm
- Saturday, 6 April 2013: 8:00am to 5.00pm
What documents do I need to bring along to Race Entry Pack Collection?
Please bring along:
- a printout of your registration confirmation slip (stamped if donation card has been returned to the branch)
- your Identity Card or Passport (for adult Participants in any Event category)
- a photocopy of your birth certificate (for children Participants only)
- your personalised donation card and the donations collected if not already returned to the branch
In the event that your donation card is lost, you are responsible for filing a police report. You will be provided with a note stating the loss of donation cards. You must present this note together with the donations you have collected.
Without your donation card or a police note (in the event that you lose your card), you will not be given your Race Entry Pack.
If I can’t make it to the Race Entry Pack Collection, can I authorise someone to collect my Race Entry Pack on my behalf?
Yes. Please ask your representatives to bring along:
- a printout of your confirmation slip
- a photocopy of your Identity Card or Passport (for adult Participants in any Event category)
- a photocopy of your birth certificate (for children Participants only)
- your personalised donation card (or a police note in the event that you lose your donation card) and the donations collected
- a letter of authorisation signed by you
What is in the Race Entry Pack?
- a participant bib number
- an exclusive Event running t-shirt
- a timing chip (for Half-Marathon and 10km only)
- a lucky draw ticket
- other sponsored goodies (to be confirmed)
Can I pre-book my Event t-shirt size and bib number?
Pre-booking of T-shirt sizes is available for online registrations only. However, pre-booking of bib numbers is not permitted.
T-shirt sizes are given on a first-come-first-serve basis if you register in person.
Can I exchange any of the items in my Race Entry Pack?
No. Exchanging of any items in the Race Entry Pack is strictly not permitted.
Can I collect my Race Entry Pack on the Event day?
No. All Participants or their representatives must collect the Race Entry Pack on the 5 or 6 April 2013.
Can I get my Race Entry Pack delivered to my address?
Unfortunately, there is no delivery service for the Race Entry Packs.
How do I register?

When is the closing date for registration?
The closing date for registration is on 17 March 2013.
Any registration forms submitted after 17 March 2013 will strictly not be accepted.
Registrations may be closed earlier if the Event categories has reached maximum capacity (refer below).:
- 21km- 600 runners
- 10km- 2000 runners
- 5km- 2000 runners
- 2.5km- 1400 runners
Can my friend or family member register for me?
Yes. You must pass on your completed registration form, registration fee and a copy of identification (such as Identity Card or Passport) to your friend or family member registering for you.
Can a company or organisation register for the run?
We currently do not accept corporate or group registrations. Please encourage interested employees or members to sign up as individuals.
Prizes are for individuals only. We are unable to award prizes to corporate or groups.

- You can send your registration confirmation to your e-mail address or you can print it out.
What happens if I do not show up on the Event day? Can I ask my friend to take my place?
- No. All registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Your registration fee will be donated to the charities.
Can I change my particulars after submitting my registration?
Yes. If you want to change your particulars (such as name, address, etc.), you can send an e-mail to help.scbruneihalfmarathon@sc.com
Can I change my run category after submitting my registration?
No. Any changes to run categories are not permitted after your registration has been submitted.
When is the Standard Chartered Half Marathon Brunei 2013 held?
Sunday, 7 April 2013.
Where is the event held?
The event will start and finish off at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium.
What time does each event category start?
The flag-off times are as follows:
- Half Marathon (21km, all categories): 5:30am
- 10km (men, women): 6:00am
- 5km Run (men, women): 6:15am
- 2.5km Fun run: 6:30am
We recommend that you arrive early to ensure you can warm up and store your bags (if needed) at the bag storage booth.
Is there a maximum capacity for Standard Chartered Brunei Half Marathon 2013?
We will only be accepting up to 6000 registrations for the Event. Each category will also be limited to numbers as below:
- Half Marathon (21km) – 600 participants
- 10km – 2,000 participants
- 5km – 2,000 participants
- 2.5km –1,400 participants
If I win a run prize and am unable to claim the prize money, can I request for it to be collected on a different day?
No. Prize money must be collected on Event day. You must produce proof of identification in order to collect your prize money.
Are there any refreshments provided for the Participants?
Water and isotonic drinks will be provided at designated water stations along the Event route on the Event day. Other refreshments are also available for purchase on the Event day.
Is there a cut-off time to complete the run?
Yes, the cut off time for each category is as follows:
- Half Marathon (21km) – 3 hours
- 10km – 2 hours
- 5km – 1 hour
- 2.5km – no cut off time
What if I am injured during the race or otherwise unable to finish the race?
- First aid stations will be located at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium area.
- Race marshals will be stationed along the Event route and will help you to contact a sweeper vehicle to transport you (injured/unable to complete race) back to the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium where medics will be on standby to assist you.
If I am not running, can I come to the event? Can I bring my family and friends to the event? Is there an entrance fee?
- All are welcome to the event, regardless if you are running or not.
- There is no entrance fee to the event and you can enjoy the various booth activities available. Some activities will have minimal fees to participate.
What if it rains on the day of the event?
The event will continue rain or shine. If weather conditions are too severe, the event may be cancelled and all proceeds raised will be donated to charities as promised.
What if I forget to wear my bib number on the Event day?
All participants must wear their bib during the event. Should you not have your bib, you may still run but you will not be eligible for any prizes or certificates.
